Student Teaching

Hello All! Student teaching has been going well and I am learning a lot. I was able to obtain some pictures from the school that were taken during our week of assessment testing. I am enjoying my time at Fourth Baptist Christian School and like my supervising teacher. The more I am in the classroom however, the more I realize how much I still have to learn.
I will be starting my sixth week tomorrow. It has been fun to get to know the kids and their individual personalities. They are all very sweet children!

teaching experiences.

The Last of Joyful Praise!

My quartet 'Joyful Praise' sang in our last performances on December 8-9 at Pillsbury's Christmas concert. It was bittersweet. We had a blast traveling and singing together, yet I am glad to be out of the van - ahem. I have many fun memories from the whole experience and am grateful for the opportunity to have ministered in that capacity. I am also blessed to have gotten to travel for a whole summer with my best friend Christa (thanks girl, for the great memories)!

My Family!

My beautiful sisters growing up way too fast!

Baby Anders just keeps getting cuter & cuter!

Sweet Baby Anders is growing so fast! He is already 41/2 months old. He has brought only joy and happiness to the Miller/Nyberg clan. Anders has the sweetest disposition and the most kissable cheeks ever! He still has a head full of soft baby hair. I think that he has the most blond hair I have ever seen on a baby. Amy has already had to trim it because it was getting too long (or should I say she had daddy cut it...?)

Auntie Mary loves sweet Anders!

Anders looks a lot like his mamma!

Back at School!

I am back at Pillsbury College again. I have finally accomplished getting to my senior year. Praise the Lord! I am once again a Floor Leader for a second year in a row. After living on second floor for three years, I have moved up in the world and now live on 4th floor with a great group of 22 other girls.

Here are the 5 other Floor Leaders that I will
be working with this year. From left to right they
are Melissa Groschel, Christa Schofield, Candace
Kovach, Amy Fiztsimmons, and Carissa Callahan.
We had a fun two-day Floor Leader retreat at a
camp in Iowa before school started. We have a great
group of F.L.'s this year and I am excited to get to
work with them.

Baby Anders

I realized that I don't have any photos of my sweet nephew Anders Nyberg on my blog! So here are a few pictures of the cutest baby ever!!!
Great-Grandpa Miller!

Philladelphia & Boston...

Well here is another update of my summer travels...while on the east coast we had the opportunity to go to Philly and see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Four of us had never been to Philly, so we really enjoyed seeing everything. There is so much history there! A few days later we were in Boston for the afternoon and got to tour the ship 'The Constitution." It is the oldest war vessel afloat in America, built around 1797.

'Independence Hall' where the Declaration of Independence was signed. It was so amazing to be inside and be in the same room where history was made.

Sorry I haven't added any new pics as of late. We haven't been in homes that offered the internet. We are still on tour in the east coast and will begin heading west on Monday, July 3. I am out of time, but hope to add some fun pictures of our time here in the east as soon as I am able. Check back soon...

Emmaus Baptist Church Patriotic Concert...

After having been on the road for two weeks "Joyful Praise" came back to MN to sing in New Ulm and attend a wedding. It just so happened that we were in MN the same day as my church's Patriotic concert held at Bethel University campus. The Bevis' graciously allowed us to go to the 3 pm concert before we headed out for New York that same night. It was a beautiful concert and we were thrilled to get to go. Here are more pictures of "Joyful Praise" singing on Mankato's channel 12 TV program "I Believe in Miracles". I can't post more than 5 pictures under one heading at a time or I would have put these with the other TV pics.

New York City...

Yesterday we drove to Manhatten and spent most of the day seeing the sites in New York City. We didn't have time to go to the Statue of Liberty though, so Mr. Bevis dropped us off for a few minutes at a park that has a pretty good view of it. Getting to be in New York City was such an amazing experience. I have never seen so many people on one street corner, or for that matter on the sidewalk in my life! There were thousands of people, and the traffic was horrendous. Mr. Bevis drove us by Times Square, Madison Square Gardens, The Plaza Hotel, and through Central Park. We stopped at Ground Zero and got out to see the memorials. I think the best part of the day was getting to go to the top of the Empire State Building though. The view was incredible! Again we were thanking the Lord for a beautiful sunny day so we could see a long ways. The last time Christa got to go to the top two years ago, it was a little foggy and one couldn't see very far out.

Niagara Falls...

This last week we had the opportunity to go to Niagara Falls and spend 2 wonderful hours (0n the Canadian side) seeing the glorious magnificence of God's creation. The last time I was at the falls was when I was 14, so I really enjoyed having the chance to see it again now that I am older.
The Lord was so good to give us the most time possible to see the Falls without wasting too much time standing in lines. We only had two hours to wander around and we all wanted to make the most of it. When we first got to the Falls, Christa, Charity and I decided we really wanted tickets to go down behind the Falls. The line was extremely long for the tickets, so we decided to wait and do our siteseeing from the top first. When we finally went to get the tickets to go behind the Falls, there was no line whatsoever! We walked right up and had no wait. The Lord was so good!!!

Mt. Evans & all its Glory!

On Wednesday we drove 14 miles up Mt. Evans (elevation 14,000+ Feet) to the top and climbed around the rocks and cliffs. It was a blast and the scenery so very breathtaking. We were told the temp was around 14 degrees at the top. It was chilly, but certainly did not feel that cold. When we were getting ready to leave it started snowing, which was kind of fun getting to see it snow in June!

This photo was taken at Lake Echo on the drive up to Mt. Evans. Like our polo shirts - at least people will know who we all are by our names on the shirts!

Christa "falling" off the top of Mt. Evans! (Not to worry, she was standing on a ledge...)

Sarah and Charity standing in front of the snow drift that we took atvantage of for our snowball fight...we also "built" a snowman, hence the little balls of snow at Charity's feet - giggle.

A fabulous view from the top!

One last weekend at home...

Last weekend,(June 3rd), Joyful Praise sang at my church, Emmaus Baptist. The whole group stayed at my home for the weekend. We had Friday off so we were able to go home a day early and spend extra quality time with the family and baby Anders. I had a wonderful 2 1/2 days with my precious family before I head out for seven more weeks of tour.

Baby Anders 2nd visit to see Great-Grandma Pfleider!
Amy drove down to Lakeville to pick me and the other four girls up. On the way home we stopped and had a visit with grandma. The quartet sang a few songs for grandma and the other residents while we were visiting. It was a blessing to see grandma one last time before I leave for the summer. She really loved holding Anders!!!

At home with my favorite younger sisters...
Really love you girls!!!

On Tour in Colorado!!!

This last week our group "Joyful Praise" has been singing at a conference in Golden, CO. During the afternoons the Bevis' took us sightseeing to several different sites. The pictures following show some of the neat places that we got to see:

Air Force Academy Chapel

Front of the Protestant Chapel

We got an amazing hour long tour of the whole inside of the Protestant chapel. The tour also included seeing the Catholic and Jewish chapels located on other floors. One of the cool places that the tour guide let us go up and see was up into the organ loft to get a closer look at the 4,000 + pipes that it has (The organ loft is normally off-limits to visitors, but the tour guide made an exception for us after he found out we were a singing group on summer tour and the fact that Holly took organ lessons last semester. :-)

Birds-eye view from the organ loft of the Protestant Chapel

Focus on the Family

Here we are outside of Focus on the Family's Headquarters. We were able to get a tour of the facility, and check out "Whit's End" (which is every child's dream playland).
